Rob Travers

He enjoys water skiing, biking, rowing, hiking, balsawood airplane modeling, fooseball, and gardening.  Rob's other interests include: church, spending time with his family, and watching his daughter, Tyler, play softball.

Rob and his wife Lynette have two daughters and one son, Tyler, Erin and Brian.

Buddy Thorburn

Buddy is a graduate of High Point University with a degree in physical education.  He has been coaching the competitive team at High Point Gymnastics Academy for the last 20 years.  During this time he has been a national team coach and helped many gymnasts earn college scholarships.

He enjoys spending time with his family and friends,  and watching all sports, reading.  Buddy's other interests include: church, teaching other sports, and reading.

Buddy and his wife Lisa have six children, Matt, Bekah, Aleah, Abbie, Emma, and Hannah.




Jenna Squires
     Coach, Advanced Girls Team

Jenna is a graduate of Ragsdale High School.  She has been a competitive coach for the High Point Gymnastics Academy for five years.  During that time she has coached our compulsory teams all five years and our optional teams for the last four years.  She brings a great deal of knowledge of the sport to the gym as she was a competitive gymnast for 13 years.  She started her gymnastics career at the tender young age of 5.

She enjoys spending time with her family, going out with friends, and watching addictive reality shows.  Jenna's other interests include: being around children, wake boarding and cooking.



Lori Hendershot
     Coach, Compulsory Girls Team

Lori is CPCC Certified in the Medical Assistant field.  She has been a coach for the High Point Gymnastics Academy for five years.  She is a compulsory coach as well as the head coach of our Preteam. 

Lori enjoys camping trips with her family and reading.

Lori and her hubsand, Bill, have two children, Drew,who competes level eight for High Point Gymnastics Academy and Hope, who is a member of the preteam.



Karen Phillips
     Coach, Compulsory Girls Team

Karen graduated from the University of Michigan with a concentration in English and a minor in Philosophy.  She is pursuing her teaching certification in secondary English and her masters in Education at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Karen has been coaching/teaching children (four months - 14 years old) for nine years.  She also was a competitive gymnast and competed level seven.  She has curriculum development, staff training, and management experience.
